Quality Engineer

(M/F/D)

Reporting directly to the Head of the Quality Department, the Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring and improving the quality of IRISO parts by supporting all related processes internally and towards the customer. Moreover, this position is responsible for handling all tasks related to quality topics and supporting the transposition of customer specific requirements.

Job duties include investigating and responding to customer quality issues, arranging claim sample shipments to IRISO plants, handling PPAP and other Quality related requests, managing warehouse activities with regards to defective parts, sorting and scrapping, and corresponding with customers.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Check PPAP requirement and issue PPAP requests accordingly
  • Prepare IMDS, environmental and other compliance survey
  • Coordinate between customers and Engineering department regarding customer claims
  • PCN tracking (maintaining the PCN list) for:
  • due dates for sample shipments, PPAP data and other information
  • Issuing of sample requests
  • Cover for Head of Quality and other Quality colleagues during holiday and sickness
  • Make decisions related to costs occurred due to quality claims
  • Make decisions about necessary actions due to quality issues like sorting, blocking or returning of parts
  • Prepare presentations related to quality topics

Your profile / Qualifications:

  • At least 1-3 years of experience working in Quality Management, or other Engineering field
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Technical Engineering, or other technically related field
  • Alternatively: Technical vocational training with several years of relevant work experience
  • Preferably Quality Management qualification
  • Good knowledge QM procedures and processes

  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work well with others and mediate, if necessary
  • Strong customer service skillset
  • Fluent in German and English (written and oral), Japanese is a plus
  • Effective time management skills
  • Technical capacity to learn parts and applications
  • Computer competency (experience with SAP and Microsoft Office)

Preferred skills:

  • Experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 norms
  • 8D report methodology
  • Formal PPAP and APQP training qualification
  • Knowledge of and experience with FMEA (design & process)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work well with others and mediate, if necessary
  • Strong customer service skillset
  • Fluent in German and English (written and oral), Japanese is a plus
  • Effective time management skills
  • Technical capacity to learn parts and applications
  • Computer competency (experience with SAP and Microsoft Office)
